Courses in Community Interpreting

Multilingua works with the WEA to provide training courses in Community Interpreting throughout the South West of England.

The next course will be in Exeter, starting with a compulsory introductory 3 hour session on Sunday 27th September09, 1.00pm to 4.00pm  (if you have missed this, you can still contact us within the next month for options). Please contact us for further information.

ExeterCIESK-Autumn'09

 

Community Interpreting: Essential Skills and Knowledge

This accredited course is intended for those who are fluent in English and another language, and who have:

  • Paid or unpaid experience interpreting in public services in the UK
  • Understanding and knowledge of the communities they represent
  • Fluency in English and another language which is spoken locally

 

This is a 60 hour course focusing on interpreting skills, the role of the interpreter and issues raised. There is also input from visiting speakers from the public services. 

Fee £250(free if on means tested benefit eg. JSA, IS, WTC, HB)

Accreditation £37.50
